Why is he acting like a different person?

I met this guy call him Slade online, and what happened was we would play online together we work together to win a game or whatever just chill talk about whatever we wanted he confessed he liked me I confessed I liked him too. I would tell him personal things and he would always listen to me and try to comfort me and give me advice, he told me and another person he had a soft spot for me and that he cared about me. And we had this group of friends that we would chat with online audio party chat on playstation while we were all playing a game. But then slade started being rude to one of those in our friend group cause they accidentally caused him to lose the game. But later when Slade tried playing with the group he didn't understand why they didn't want to talk to him or anything. So I told him they didn't want to talk to him anymore because he was being rude. So then. He started saying he's done being nice and showing mercy that he's done with the whole group. Then he told me that he never had a soft spot for me that he lied and when I told him he told me that he did care. Then he asked me "did you really think I cared about you?" I said yes and he said he doesn't care. And when I asked why he didn't care he said he's a cold angry hateful person. And when I asked him why he pretended to like and cared about me, he wouldn't give me and answer he said " because" and I asked for more Information he told me to stop and move on, then he checks my Snapchat story and when I told him I trusted him and he hurt me. Then he unfriends me. Why did he say those things to me after I told him the others want nothing to do with him?
