Yes and no. So I'm a nurse in an ICU, so I've dealt with patients and families from all different socioeconomic standings during some very stressful times in their life because they themselves it their loved ones are in bad enough shape to be in an ICU.

I've had poor patients/families be complete assholes and complete sweethearts even though ICU stays are extremely expensive. I've see the same thing with rich patients/families.

Assholes come in all shapes and sizes and financial backgrounds. They are assholes in different ways. I notice entitlement in more wealthy individuals, but I've noticed more political type assholes with poorer individuals.

No, I don't think there's any correlation between a guy being poor and being an asshole. A guy who is poor might be more frustrated in general... because being poor is hard and frustrating. But I definitely don't think that a poor guy is more likely to be an asshole. Being an asshole or not has exactly zero impact on how wealthy a person is. I would say there is nothing at all to that theory. Judge each guy on his merits as an individual.

To me, this question would be the same as asking: "Do you think left-handed people are more likely to turn out to be assholes?" I just think those two things are unrelated. Same here. 🙂

I don't think so. We didn't have a lot growing up, but what we had, we appreciated. I think it humbled me and made me realize you only need so many possessions/superficial crap. Beyond a certain point, it is just showing off.

Even though I do okay now, it hasn't turned me into an asshole and I am still the same humble guy I was growing up.
