Is it possible for a guy to say he loves you through text even though you haven’t met irl?

So I met this guy via Instagram and the moment we started talking it immediately clicked. We’ve been talking for a while but we can’t meet each other because we literally live on different continents making that rather difficult. But he told me that I make him feel special and other cute stuff (he’s very corny lol) and literally just a few mins ago we were chatting as usual and then I was like yeah I’m going to bed now blah blah and then he’s like gn baby😘 love you and I didn’t know what do for a sec but yeah u guys think he means it?

Not really... meeting someone in person changes the dynamics of a relationship to such an extent that you can't really know what's up with someone until you've met them in person. You can love the idea of someone over text... you can't actually love them though.

Sure it’s possible, one thing about LDRs is that you comment based on personality compatibility alone and of course you want to have that connection with your partner.


But the practicality of the relationship lasting more than 5 months would be the hang up for me. Eventually you get to a point where the distance hurts your soul and you crave physical touch or in-person moments so bad it becomes depressing the longer you go with it.


On separate continents, how plausible is it for you guys to close the distance? This sort of arrangement is not meant to be long-term, so what plan do you two have for the future that isn’t just fantasizing or plotting but actual set in stone plans? Love is the least of your worries when those things come into play.

People who start a relationship as a LDR will tell you that things change when you meet in person. No matter how much time you spend texting or even Skyping, it is no substitute for in person contact. You don't know a person as well as you think when you have never met in person. And if you don't really know the person, then how can you be in love?

Absolutely. But be careful. You only know him trough text so you’re kinda building the rest of him in your mind. I had a similar experience.

I think he just said it because it sounds good with " gn baby" . He just said " love you " not I love you
