Why would a guy text you and show you he's interested but stop texting, only to act like he doesn't really know you irl?

Its also not like we texted each other casually, we only had a few conversations but they were deep and we talked for a few hours at a time. Since school started a few days ago i see him but he makes no eye contact and doesn't initiate a conversation.

Maybe school is the issue. Is he the type that studies hard and takes school seriously? Does he do a lot of activities in school? Clubs, sports, etc?

I wouldn't read too much into it. With school just starting as you mention, he may just be getting into the groove is all.

That can often happen, over holidays you chat to other people you don’t usually hang out with, start of school and it’s back with the old crowd.

he may be concentrating on classes etc and getting back into swing of things.

Try saying high and you initiate conversation, however try and do it when he’s alone.
