There are numerous reasons why someone would not want to be liked by the opposite gender.

Could be because he is afraid that this liking may develop into something more intimate than simple liking and he is not ready or available for that kind of commitment. He could also have issues with being friends with a person of the opposite gender or simply because he is already taken and does not want to cause or create misunderstandings.

Some people are simply not very good at socializing or having a number of friends or acquaintances. I don't think that it is something personal or against you.

Maybe he is already taken, maybe you are just not his type, maybe he is homosexual/asexual. Maybe he is not looking for a relationship right now.. the list goes on.

You can't always have who you want. Its okay. It doesn't mean you are ugly (i haven't seen you so can't tell) but I doubt thats the reason

OK I see your age bracket is 36-45. So I assume you are talking about a man in the same bracket. After about 30 men start figuring out women. If you haven't concluded you shouldn't marry them and shouldn't father children with them you are a bit of a slow dimwit.
