Guy's Behavior

My old teacher always stares at me, I always look at him too because I like him, but why do you guys think he does it back?

there's this teacher who's in his 20s and im 19, we always stare at eachother like eyes glued to eachothers when we're walking towards eachother. He doesn't seem to do it to his other students. Back when he used to teach me (for 4 months) i got a really big crush on him so i always look at him. The only thing is he holds eye contact and smiles really sweetly but he's a teacher who NEVER smiles, people think he's scary. We've talked before and have lots in common and he now and again will awkwardly or timidly approach me to talk about stuff. I don't think he's weird, he's lovely. But I'm confused because why would he treat me different to other students and always stare at me... yes I do also stare at him though. Because i have a ceush on him I keep being dumb thinking "ooo what if he likes me back" but I don't know, I wouldn't want to danger his job.
