How can you tell if a guy is just shy?

I mean, this one was married for 4 years and with her for 10, he had gfs in uni but he's been single for ages. It seemed like he used to be really confident but he's a different person now. He doesn't comment on girls pics online, just likes them but has no issue having a debate with folk. He hasn't followed anyone on insta in ages

He is older and has moved on from his past life and is happy with his life now.
It might take someone special to get close to him.
I was that way for a while after I got divorced.
I finally turned my life around and liked who I was and enjoyed my freedom.
I just had no desire to get into a relationship.
I could get laid when I felt the urge to, but I was perfectly fine on my own.

he's fairly active, has a steady job lots of friends. He does have mh issues. Its just annoying cos we really bonded over our issues n he got me straight away
