Why do guys love boobs?

The evolutionary reason is that for most of human history (what we would recognize as "civilization" has only existed in some form for about 10,000 years, but humans have been around for closer to a million years), one band of humans would often raid another band of humans, and one of the things they were after was women - specifically sexually mature women. This was actually important to long-term survival of the species - if people only reproduced within their own group/village of 50-100 people, inbreeding would cause all kinds of problems, so people needed to genetically diversify to stay healthy.

Anthropologist posit that the reason female humans have prominent breasts (humans are the only mammal where breasts are prominent when not pregnant/breastfeeding) is so that sexually mature women could be identified at a distance - which would let them be targeted in these raids.

This sounds horrible by modern standards, but today's standards weren't even remotely possible back then - life was brutally difficult and there was no concept of "rights" or freedom - there was only survival or death. But the women were taken as wives, and taken care of - again, this was necessary for survival of the species.

We retain this instinct even in the modern day. It takes 1,000 generations (approximately) to make significant changes to instincts, which for humans means about 20,000 years.

But, aside from all that, there's this simple truth: boobs are awesome, and lots of fun.

I don't understand how you can not already know the answer. It is just an obvious thing like water being wet. Men love breasts.

Men and women are different. Men want women, women want men. Men are attracted to women. They don't look like men. Men love women's faces, their curves, the parts of them that are uniquely women and feminine.

I mean we all have elbows, knees, ankles, ears, shoulders... etc. We are usually most attracted to the most uniquely man or female parts. Women love a man's broad, muscular shoulders and strong chiseled chest and V-shaped back and strong jaw line. Those things are manly and different from a woman.

Women's breasts are uniquely feminine and beautiful. Their shape and curves and their softness to the touch. Men don't have breasts. They are unique to women and they look and feel amazing. I mean, everyone has elbows. No one is attracted to elbows but breasts are something only women have and men are hard wired to be attracted to women. The most unique things on women attract men the most. Their curves, their curvy hips and bottoms, their soft skin, their feminine faces, their breasts... etc.

Why do people marvel at the fact breasts are a prime point of attraction for men?

evolutionary standpoint, the sight of boobs releases chemicals to reduce stress and subconsciously increase activity in pleasure receptors in the brain. It's so infants "enjoy" boobs and want to nurse. If they were creepy and scary then we'd starve to death. Heterosexual men are attracted to them because they become a sexualized item in the Western world. The study didn't specifically include homosexual women so I can't say how they continue to respond physiologically in adulthood. In cultures where breasts are not sexualized the same hormone changes occur, even though a naked breast is not a sexual item in that culture.

Its' really simple. Men and women are physically, anatomically different! Also, our brains are hardwired differently! We guys are programmed - programmed since we lived in caves - to find the sights and sounds of women exciting, attractive and, ultimately, arousing. This is why men approach women for social interaction, dating, and ultimately, marriage. It don't think most straight men would be interested in dating a woman who looked exactly like a man. It is not that we never got over breast feeding. I think it goes back pre-paleolithic days on the African savanah. Once a girl got breasts she would have be fair game. Fast forward to 2020 if a girl is showing breast she is fair game. 2023? Opinions seem to differ but I think still fair game.
