Why would a guy keeps waving at you when he has not talked to you in year?

We worked together on a school project last year for several days, and since then he always waves at me when he sees me - but nothing beyond that. Why does he keep waving at me when we have not spoken with each other for the last year.

I really don’t know what goes on in peoples heads. Some people do strange stuff. But like I said. Maybe it’s being friendly

Yeah lol. I know but that’s really the only way to know for sure. Like I said my best guess is to assume he’s being friendly.

That or just go chat with him when he waves if he has time
