Why would a guy that hasn’t seen you in years do this?

So I was in a shop, and there was like a glass panel that could see through the upstairs floor. I saw a girl walking and then a guy behind her. The girl kept walking on and didn’t stop but the guy behind her did and scanned the downstairs where I was. He was about to talk on but then saw me and did a double take. What he did was basically see me unexpectedly, turn around to confirm, get closer and kneel down on one knee to make sure and then get up and walk away, I have a feeling the girl called out to him and realised he wasn’t behind her. But yeah, wtf was that

How is it normal to kneel down on the floor though? He sat on the floor to get a better look

Pretty normal? It’s pretty basic stuff to do when you want to get a better look at someone and you have change positions to do it.

Really? Because every other guy I’ve told and my friends have said that’s weird af. Changing positions vs sitting on the floor in a shop are two different things but we can agree to disagree

I’m not sure why that would be weird at all. Those are two different things, but they aren’t that different. Unless there is some additional detail about the situation that I don’t know about, I think that sounds like a very normal human interaction.
