2 problems: how do I get my scouts badge and how do I deal with my girlfriend's brother?

I'm in the Boy Scouts and I'm close to getting my knot tying badge, but I need to show a creative way of using the knots. I'm trying to brainstorm ideas with my girlfriend but her annoying older brother won't leave us alone. We're the same age so he doesn't mess with me all too often, but he bullies my girlfriend and my patients is wearing thin. What do I do?

A couple things you could do. First thing would be to have the girlfriend complain to the parents and ask them to have him leave you alone. Another thing to try would be to give him incentive to be gone; one of my brothers used to slip me a couple bucks to be somewhere else instead of pestering him and his girlfriend. Lastly, you could put those knot-tying skills to use and tie him to a large drain pipe or radiator in some other room.

I've tried the first thing. The second thing might work... The third thing is hilarious and would also help get my scout badge, but I'd need a way to keep his big mouth shut less he yells the place down

Regarding the brother... if he's doing something to/about her, that's her problem to deal with their parents. Your job to understand her, care for her, be sympathetic, but not your job to fix the brother or the situation.

I can't just sit around and wait for her parents to do something, they never see him picking on her

So, I think that while it's frustrating you should not do anything.

Let me frame it this way: if you had a sister and were picking on her and her boyfriend started interfering do you think you would be the least bit inclined to change your behavior? I doubt it.

I've watched this with my kids and their boyfriends/girlfriends and siblings: outside stuff like what you want to do doesn't work and often makes things worse.

The best thing you can do is support her and care for her and not meddle.

A severe enough beating tends to send the message clearly. But you're also a kid and dating his sister so that may get awkward.
