Guys, why are goth girls so fetishized/sought after on social media?

Its like guys either want nothing to do with us or are absolutely obsessed 😭 why is that?

I've wondered the same thing. The closest thing I have to a good answer is Morticia Addams. I've never read the original cartoons, but in the series (and the movies I've seen), she and Gomez, while definitely not a stereotypical couple, are madly in love with one another, and powerfully mutually supportive.

They make an elegant rebuttal to the very common and very obnoxious setting of the overweight unattractive idiot husband married to a far more shapely but personally-unpleasant woman who's usually praised as being far more moral and sensible, despite actually being neither of those things (think Marge and Homer Simpson, or Peter and Lois Griffin); she may love him, but she doesn't LIKE him, and lords her purported moral superiority over him at every opportunity. He may love her, but doesn't have enough awareness of even basic personality traits to honestly be capable of liking her; he just enjoys the sex and occasional validation. He's neglectful if not outright abusive; she's shrewish if not outright sociopathic.

Now contrast Gomez and Morticia. Most of the guys I hear lusting after goth girls (I did hear one guy praising their ability to sack Rome, but I think that was a joke) are WAY too young to have even heard of the Addams Family, but I have no other idea why such women are so sought after.

Not that I have anything against them, mind, but the appeal is QUITE widespread, and among very diverse sectors of society.

It's so hard to say. I think it's a number of things. For me, something like a goth girl - in my mind - represents a sort of "anti-girl". That is to say the "normal" or mainstream girl. They also just in general represent a... discontentment with how society or our culture functions. And I think there can be a lot of reasons why a guy might be into that.

I personally think some goth girls are very hot, but at the same time I also have no idea how I could get along with one. Not that I've tried. It'd be cool to find one I could get along with.

This is no different than any sub-set that has made an effort to set themselves apart from the mainstream, be that a church girl, a tatted-up "alt girl", a "nerd girl", a tomboy, a sports girl (gymnast, surfer, ice skater, etc.), or whatever. Most of the mainstream will not be interested, but the ones who find them attractive find them VERY attractive.

It's no secret that if you want to be attractive to the greatest amount of people, then you adopt the mainstream views on attraction. Goths - among many other groups, intentionally reject the mainstream views in favor of a niche view that they themselves find attractive, fully knowing that the mainstream won't be attracted to them. Given that, it can't be a surprise that there will be a subset of men who find that group very attractive despite the mainstream having the opposite opinion. In fact, that's a big part of the reason people adopt non-mainstream looks and lifestyles.

A lot of goth girls are very good at subtle teasing. I don’t know if that’s part of the whole vibe or watt? But it’s definitely true that goth girls can capture my attention with a little bit of effort.

I don't think it's specific to goth girls. Girls are in general fetishised on social media. Depending on the taste, it might be goth somewhere, or others at different places.
