I heard about this very red-hear emoji thing happening to another girl I knew. Her guy friend, let's just call him John, was so confused, yet so entranced by her.

She was the only one of his Facebook friends that he hadn't spoken to in months, but the sight of her name still reverberated through him. He had saved her number with many red heart emojis next to it, though she had never been told of it or even asked if she wanted such affection.

Was this his way of confessing his love for her without actually saying it?

John thought of her constantly and feel a strange obsession that he'd never felt before. He longed to know what it meant, but he knew he couldn't bear the thought of rejection if he ever did find out. So, he set up a plan in his head to contact her without explicitly showing his feelings for her.

Here's where the story gets really sweaty.

That night, John sent her a message with a link to an unidentified video. She was curious to click the link, it was a video of two melons being smashed together with expletives and innuendos about “boobies”, “tits”, “milkers”, “chesticles”, “honkers” and “jugs”.

She felt herself becoming very uncomfortable as she watched it, but the video ended with an image of her name written across it above two large red hearts, surrounded by a bright pink glow. She realized that John was obssesed.

But the strangeness didn't stop there; almost immediately after she saw the video, her phone started to vibrate. It was John calling her. As she cautiously answered the call, John, on the other end, said only two words - “I love you.”

John had finally found the courage to express his love in a way that was both shocking and confusing. He had managed to make an impression without saying a word.

Yet, as she thought of his peculiar confession, she couldn't help but feel a little wary.

I had to give my number to a kid like this in high school, for a school trip. We were in charge of coordinating with the chauffeurs.

He thought him getting my number for what I considered "work reasons" meant he and I were dating.

He spent half a year telling anyone who would listen to him about how we were dating. He literally tailed me around anytime we were in the same vicinity.

I don't know if he ever did understand. He only left me and another obsession of his (my friend) alone because we reported him to our guy friends and they threatened to beat him up. And also the adults with us gave him a stern talking to.

I do similar Thing when i have many of the same name in my contact either put a monkye emoji for people who i might not call again or heart emoji for people i will take to. Its a way to sort the contacts

Have to go with boggboss on this one. I think you are confusing interest in you with love. It sounds like you are very emotionally needy and desperate for love. But what you are describing is not love. It may be attraction, it may be interest, but love doesn't come so fast. Slow it down and don't invest so much of yourself it this yet. It's too soon and you risk having a big disappointment. You need to get to know each other much better before you can tell if it is love or not. Hold your feelings in reserve and go slowly.
