No that isn't stalking. That would mean anyone you approach friendly would be stalking. You are certainly not stalking her unless you constantly follow her around or harass her. For example, if she says stop approaching her because she is uncomfortable for some weird ass reason and you don't stop then yeah. What you did is fine and she seemed receptive from the info you gave.
