I wouldn't say red flag.

He may genuinely like you/those things about you.

The important things here are twofold:

First, it's a first day. He's overwhelmed by you. there's probably a lot he sees that he wants to compliment. Which leads to:

Second, he's communicating!!! And verbalizing. And not doing some stupid, fake, pretend to not care, hard to get silliness.

Get to know him. This -- and him -- should chill. And if not, then a gentle, "hey, you don't have to compliment me every minute" should throttle him back. If not, time for a chat. But, again, better a guy who appreciates you than one who's indifferent.
