Newly married man sent his engagement and marriage pictures to his ex girlfriend who’s married?

There’s this guy that is newly married, but before his current wife who he’s been with 3-4 years before they got married, he was together with his ex for a couple of years as well. His ex didn’t want him and she had married someone else after they broke up. The guy used to stay in contact with his ex until she got married, after that he became friends and stayed in contact with her husband for some reason. He now sends his ex girlfriends husband pictures of his engagement to his current partner and asks him to show his ex, as well as recently sent them pictures of his marriage and wanted his ex to see it. What would this mean and why would he be doing that?
