The problem with that is that there's *always* going to be people that other people are pissed at, even if they do nothing wrong someone will feel slighted or *something*.
Free speech works like that unfortunately.
And while living in a protective bubble where we'd only hear what we want to hear might seem better the reality is that we *need* push back and dissent to think clearly. (The lack of this is part of why echo chambers exists and that in turn is a huge contributor towards extremism)
We even need to be upset occasionally.

We *all* have opinions and thoughts that needs to be checked occasionally.
We get stuck in our mindset and if we don't get feedback making us think we'll never get out of it.

Your suggestion was a vote based system.
That's not going to filter based on what you intended, but be a popularity contest (or the opposite in this case).
If you use a system where people can get rid of those they don't want without any evidence then they *will* regardless of what they have or haven't done.

It has helped a lot of people who don't have anyone in their lives that can give them good advice in the past.

While I don't appreciate the way she's using the anonymous feature right now I disagree with you there.
There's a lot of legitimate situations where anonymity allows questions or answers that's genuinely important.
It allows people who are desperate to ask questions without fear of repercussions in their life, allowing questions to be asked that wouldn't be asked otherwise.
For instance a girl asked (anonymously if my memory serves me right) if it's okay to slap her during a argument earlier.
Now she knows that it's not something she *have* to accept from her boyfriend even if her culture might have normalized that behaviour.
I don't think she would have asked if she'd have to use her nick.

And I see a lot of answers where people are being honest that probably wouldn't have been there if they had to use their nick.

So it's a lot more nuanced then that.

People aren't good or evil.
And you're going to have undesirable behaviour whatever you do.

But with the current system people can ask the questions they need and get the answers.
Both often quite important ones.

But at the same time people *do* get banned if things get out of hand.
