Why would a guy assume I’m sleeping around? Was it what I said?

I went to a party recently and my guy friend who I used to have a crush on (he’s definitely not my type anymore) asked me if I went with my boyfriend. But I’m single and told him “I don’t have a boyfriend, I’m single and just have friends I hang out with”. He told me not to sleep around with them and not to have a lot of guy friends. I asked him why would he assume I’m doing that, and why shouldn’t I have guy friend, and he left me on read. I suspected he liked me at some point but he’s in a situationship so my suspicions are probably not true. Other than that I don’t understand why he’d say something like that and leave it like that?

Guys are factual and the reality is that most parties mean drugs, and alcohol. Which also leads to being under the influence. And we humans make stupid allegations and choices. He's harsh with his words cause he doesn't want you to come to him begging him to raise a kid that he clearly is aware he didn't conceive. Men do adopt kids but its often their own volition not cause they we're tricked. And your choice of friends may end up making him question why your picking him if he's nothing like those you claim are your friends but clearly are just party rats. Most on the straight and narrow guys who are doing their buisness. Make it a condition to avoid BS and liability.

And this response is brutally honest cause I think women deserve to hear the truth from guys who still care. And not the guys who say what girls want to hear just to get in their pants. Honesty is something better given when it counts than when it comes in the form of a shitty back water "I'm sorry."

I definitely agree with you. This is something that happens a lot and I’ve noticed with my friends as well. But in my case, this guy is only my friend and we never dated. Also, I’m saving myself for marriage and he knows this as well. So that’s why I was surprised he told me that. I understand that he probably doesn’t trust the guys I’m friends with but so far they’ve been very respectful, whereas he’s the one who always talks about sex, and he has a different girl every other day. See my confusion 🤣

Basically what he was doing is telling you that he still likes you and he was trying to find out if you are sleeping around that's the reason why he left it like that and then he also left it like that so he can get back in contact with you it's basically a form of manipulation really and it's also his way of finding out what you're doing or trying to find out what you're doing but the last information you give him the better off you are because you're just trying to be friendly and keep the peace where he's trying to gather anything he can and he one day will use it against you probably but I don't know him so I don't know

Hi, thank you for replying. I suspect he probably does, but he’s a player as well, and has multiple partners and doesn’t want commitment unlike myself. I’m not a rowdy person, and I’m usually calm even when people question me like this. The fact is that I’ve never slept with anyone and he knew this. Had he responded I’d probably been able to understand his assumptions and feelings.
