Why do guys follow girls that don’t follow back?

The guy I’m seeing follows tons of girls who don’t follow him back. Everyday he follows a new girl and they never follow back.

Because he is hopeful that one of them eventually will follow back. He's throwing everything he can against thr wall and hoping one sticks. Why does it matter? I have no clue. Could also be he just likes to look at his collection of girls that he has found on social media. I really don't get it but whatever. I don't follow people I don't know on social media. That includes this site. It doesn't bring me anything.

It's possible that he's following girls that he deems attractive, without much thought for whether or not they will see, notice, or follow him back.

It could be an ego thing or simply wanting to expand his "social network" by following as many people as possible.

If you are interested in him, you might want to be wary that he's probably pursuing other options as well, and that it is not necessarily a sign of loyalty or interest in you and only you.

Hmmm... good question, but the better one is, why do guys follow a bunch of women on-line in the first place especially if they have a perfectly real one at home?

I never understood combing the internet and following/friending women you most likely have no chance to actually meet someday. Seems like an exercise in futility.
