I know a guy who follows every single girl he ever talked to even if it was just for a few minutes.
He follows around 600 people and only 50 of them follow him back. The rest of his followers are not real, in other words “FAKE followers” to make the account appear decent.
I really don’t get it what is the point of following all of this people who don’t give a damn about you. Just follow those who follow you back and delete the rest, unless they are celebrities. To me it looks as if someone refused to be around you and you still tried so hard to be. Like wtf have some confidence, lose the desperation.
I rather have 50 followers in total than 600 fake followers AND STILL following 600 girls who refused me.
Why do you guys follow tons of girls who don't follow them back?
In the social media age, a lot of people are obsessed with followers and likes. Having a lot of followers is the social media equivalent of "popularity", even if it's people you don't know and who don't give a shit about you. People will even buy followers, which I can't wrap my head around at all.
So many people, and especially very young people who tend to be insecure anyway, are way too obsessed with what other people think of them and are afraid they'll be thought of as losers if they don't have popularity on social media. I've honestly never understood why anyone would want a bunch of random strangers on their social media, especially just for a higher number of followers and likes just to impress other people.
I don't even use IG or Snap myself, but I strongly suspect that the reason some guys follow tons of girls is not to get follows back, but simply to have a feed of pictures from hot girls. Those guys aren't trying to impress anyone with how many people they're following, they just want pics for themselves.
Anyway, the real question you should be asking yourself is: why in the world do YOU care what other people do with their social media accounts? Surely there are more important things to worry about.
I would assume it's because she has those followers and wants to have a better understanding of whom to communicate with and whom to avoid. That MIGHT be why they call it "social media" LOL
@Yads_Is_Back You're thinking about social media from a woman's perspective. Men don't see it that way. Unless they are on YouTube and getting paid per view or something, men generally don't care about how many followers they have, or any "status" that might give them. They just care about seeing pics of hot girls - the more the better.
Just think about it for a second. The men giving you the attention, are just using whatever pics you post up; they’re not doing anything more beyond that. You’re receiving attention, but I’m certain it’s not the type of attention you want. These men are following loads of other women, so when they’re bored using your pics for their pleasure, they’ll move onto another woman.
They’re just jacking off to your and thousands of other women’s pics lol.
@EmbraceThePain The thing about that... is I can’t stop them. I don’t post provocative photos. Therefore I’m not the one being disrespectful. As far as a guy jerking off to any and every pretty woman he sees, that is absolutely desperate. I have literally had a guy approach me in the parking lot at Walmart and then go jerk off in his car. Also, women for the most part aren’t desperate enough to do this same thing with pretty much any male model we see. So I don’t disagree with what you’re saying, but the fact is still the same: it shows that men are very desperate. Especially when some of us don’t provoke it.
I think a little more is required for these men to be labeled “desperate.” Just following a woman on Instagram doesn’t make a man desperate. If he did other things, like try to contact her, stalk her, make multiple accounts to befriend her, give her money for services, etc. then that can be desperate.
Men are just men, so is it really odd to follow an attractive woman or women? Well, no, because it’s just in the nature of men.
I agree with you that women don’t necessarily do the same thing with attractive guys’ profiles.

@Yads_Is_Back I still don’t think that’s necessarily desperate. All you have to do is click on the “follow” button, it’s that easy. If you do more beyond reasonably easy then that might be more desperation.

Followers and accepted follow requests are a substitute of social status. A guy who sends follow request to a random chick knows she will very likely accept his request because her goal is to have as mach as possible followers. It's mutual need satisfaction, he isn't being rejected and she becomes more fame (whatever) in her limited perception. Some people are satisfied with simplest frivolities.

I just follow ladies because I want their perception.. And ladies don't follow back at least most of them don't.. So it's not my fault.. That women are so selective about whom they follow!..

Also if a men is desperate it is fault of the women around him.. That no women has accepted him.. Same goes for women.. But most men accept quickly hence.. Less desperate women..
If a guy is following so many women on social media just to look at them because he can't get a pretty girl like that in real life, that's desperation. As for as it being women's fault, you could look at that either way. We aren't that desperate, so we are more picky, which is a good thing. If he doesn't meet the standards we prefer or he isn't at the top of the "alphas" list that's not our fault nor our problem lol

Why does what someone else does on social media bother you? Anyone with a moderate degree of sophistication knows that 'likes' and 'follows' have minimal social value. The problem is (mostly) girls tend to put WAY too much value on social media.

She's obviously curious because it's not just something "someone else" does, as YOU say, but it's something that "most guys" do. So her curiosity is understandable, since it's not applied to one person but pretty much a whole gender in general.
There is no civilized way to say this but the fact is we wanna look at boobs and asses and girls have a tendency to really involve those 2.. could be that she just likes it but most girls know that she looks sexy af and will attract more guys which in turn gives her the attention she needs through dms and likes and follows.. The idea that they do it for attention is bad in my head especially that when they are called out for it they make us sound like horney barbarians
I agree with you. I'm one of those guys to I think. Have 500 girls added and maybe 1 every 2 months says hi. Or wants to chat I think when adding some one I am always hoping or wishing for the chat the ones I have chatted with and maybe fooled around with online we are still friends and chat if we are ever on at the same time. But your right. Like on here I follow someone and I try to send them a message. But can't because they are not following me. I hate that lol

Yeah but what I’m saying he follows 600 real accounts (girls) but has 600 followers that are fake because this girls don’t follow him back. Why collect all of them? Where is the point. They aren’t even interested.
From my perspective as a guy, it seems easier for women to be confident, because they get so much validation.
So I can relate to that guy, and although your opinion makes sense, I just think it's a lot harder to believe in yourself when most members of the opposite sex treat you with indifference or downright hostility.
On any Social Media , i let a girl make the decision to follow me i will not follow a girl cause i call them kind of guys thirsty guys and my opinion girls need stay away from them kind of guys and that is why lot of them do it , they are thirsty to meet any girl it just makes no sense to me?
I dont even use any apps that need you to follow people or get followed. The app that have these options, I never click on them. Socialising is not my thing
It's not about desperation. Maybe its the pictures we get to see or we like the girl. Even if they are a fake account at least the actress or model they are using is still pretty.

Having to follow someone online just to see an attractive person, YES that IS desperate, because if you just get a smoking hot girlfriend you don't have that issue. As you can see, it's explainable that the guys following so many women this way for photos is desperate. Also, with the scenario you provided, she is not referring to when a guy is fanatical about a celebrity - let's say a guy is crazy for Salma Hayek so he follows her everywhere on social media. That's different. But when it's hundreds of girls just because they're pretty, then that's another situation - a desperate one. Also consider that women aren't as bad about this as men are. We don't tend to follow a lot of male models. Why? Because our desire and hopelessness isn't that great for it.
Because most if not all girls will accept followers but hardly ever follow back unless you're of status or attractive. They care about their following to follower ratio and its selectively chosen to create a false sense of self worth
It doesn't matter if they follow us back. Guys just like to add hot chicks, it's what we do. Doesn't mean we're trying to date them or be friends. It's the internet.
Those types of guys are jusy sad. I'm always wary of those types.

Easy. Girls online are always posting whorish pics and the best way to stay up to date on the latest lack of clothing pic is to follow them. We aren't following them for their shining personality.
@Yads_Is_Back NO, I don't follow anyone, ever. I don't feed the ego of cheap attention whores. But males who follow them because they are easy are not easy themselves, it's more like a drug dealer waving drugs in front of a recovering addicts face and then the addict finds a way of stealing it from them. Males are biologically programmed to be interested in the female body, so a female taunting them for their own narcissistic entertainment is evil and wrong. *Also before you bother... shaming someone for natural biological programming is also wrong.
