Why does my friends with benefits guy fall asleep while talking on the phone?

My friend with benefits guy talks to me over the phone and suddenly he went silent. I thought he’s doing some work. But he was sleepy. He’s done this 2-3 times already. I like it but I’m confused as to why he does it.

Maybe you shouldn't be talking on the phone at 2am in the middle of the night. Let the guy sleep when he's tired.
