Why would a guy act off guard when you ask him questions?

I feel like every time I ask my male colleague general questions outside of work, it catches him off guard. He has to think or just has an unnatural response. It can be something a simple as what did you do over the weekend.

He always has a reaction as if that was unexpected. Maybe it is? I’m not usually one to deviate from work and he doesn’t much with myself either. However, I’m sure he doesn’t do this with any of our other colleagues as he seems to converse about other topics quite casually with them or if they’re around.

Could be any number of reasons. Maybe he is intimidated by you for some reason? Maybe he likes you and that's why he gets all awkward. Really hard to say but if he doesn't do that with other people then it is something about you. I don't mean that in a bad way either. I mean that it could be that you overwhelm him with beauty or intelligence or whatever. That is a very real possibility. I can't really think of anything else. 🤷🏻‍♀️
