Is it bad if a guy asks a lot of questions, but gets shy or distant when I ask about him?

He’ll ask me lots of questions about me, but when I ask about him, his answers are long but kinda vague. He doesn’t redirect the conversation, just doesn’t give a lot of info.

It’s late here and I’m tired, but can give more info if needed when I check again in the morning.

Last night, I texted him on snapchat and showed him pictures from my bartending class and stuff. He was really interested (even joking if he could get a free drink). He asked about it/me for about 2 hours. When I asked about him, he didn't respond for an hour. When he finally did respond, he said that his agent is getting him jobs that "aren't notable, but do include a few former a-list stars." I wanted to call bs, but I didn't. Like I said, vague, but not short.

How do I ask questions without interrogating him? He wants to be an actor so I had asked him "how's auditioning going? is tmz hounding you yet?" And he said "everyday. I never get a moments rest." and I just teased him back (saying: you poor thing) before asking if he had any favorite projects/work.

Well bartender is different as we all know what they are doing 2:30-4am at one of the other bartender's places... and all the guys hitting on her. She does have needs. I would not be comfortable dating a bartender with all the factors involved in that trade. Fair or not, it is what it is. Possible Trust issues...

I did ask how his day was and how his summer is going. It was like he thought he wasn't doing anything interesting and kept exaggerating about how he was working with a-list stars (he's not).
