How to deal with a liar?

My brother is a compulsive liar to the point where he even lies about the tiniest things. He'd lie about what he ate, or what movie he watched, and of course about bigger things (made up friends, girlfriends, job, etc.). He's 30 years old, and he takes 0 responsibility. He lies about literally everything. I don't know how to deal with it anymore. I can't even talk to him, I feel so disgusted. What would you do if you were in this situation?

Sounds like he is in need for professional help. At 30 years old that is just ridiculous and only someone that is trained to deal with that can help in my opinion. If he can't get past lying constantly in 30 years of life then he needs serious help. I am guessing this isn't a new thing either and that he has been like this most of his life. I am also guessing that you have tried along with family to figure out why he does this to no avail. The problem is going to be getting him to seek help and how can you trust that he goes?

We took him to 2 therapists, and he lied to them as well. He's so convincing, that they couldn't even tell that he was lying. My parents just gave up, and I'm about to, as well.

I would give up. Maybe that is the wakeup call he needs when his family abandons him. Sorry you have to deal with that bullshit.

This is mental illness. He's a pathelogical liar, I think therapy would be a good choice?
