Thing is I'm confident but quiet and caring for other people so... I can't see how my attitude would be unlikeable

Don’t listen to people saying you’re arrogant. Society has conditioned attractive people to believe they’re not allowed to complain about things or that their problems don’t exist. If you look online there’s plenty of documentation of how pretty privilege is very real.

I face the same issues so I can give you a real answer. It’s not my attitude, it’s not my ego, in fact for most of my life I’ve believed I was ugly, while my average looking friends bragged about their looks and boys they’ve been with. It’s just how society sees you. People treat you bad because of their own insecurities. They bring you down so they feel better about how they look. I used to think I was really ugly in high school and went on a jealous streak on the web finding flaws in girls I thought were really pretty. I’ve since grown into that girl, so I realize why people do it.

There's nothing wrong with being arrogant, in my opinion, and I wish more people would feel better about expressing their arrogance, because I honestly think it's one of the most desirable traits a person can have.

almost sure there's a reason for people to hate you, not just because of how you look since that sounds like middle school. maybe politely open it up with one person who you think will tell you whats up. a gentle confrontation if that's something you do.
