I am probably one of the few males that does not have a boob fetish, so size does not matter, and to me the really big ones just look dumb.
From a strictly engineering standpoint they cannot be a lot of fun to haul around all day, the constant pull on your back, shoulders and other muscles over time.
Then as you age they sag as gravity always wins.

I wouldn't call 38D particularly large unless you also have a very small waist. Average bra size in the US is a 34DD, which, depending on how two people are built could look larger or smaller.

That's not the average bra size - any studies you see based on average bra sizes are rubbish because 80% of women wear the wrong size. 34DD might be the most common size people WEAR, but it is in no way the average. I would guess 32H/34G to be the range that is average - if everyone wore the correct size.

32/34 aren't small! Most of the slim people I know are 26, 28, 30 bands, maybe 32 if super tall but in general 32 and 34 band people would have 30 and 32 inch waists which I think is like a size 12?

I like them naturally big, sure. I don’t like them on an overweight, unhealthy body. Waste of boob. Not a fan of implants, either. Be comfortable in your own skin and be secure with what God gave you, including the ability to change yourself in healthy ways. Implants that will calcify and turn rock hard aren’t healthy. I’d prefer fit body with a flat chest over the formers.
