So, my sister’s best friend’s brother has started hitting me up recently and I thought maybe he was interested in me and I kind of was just straight forward and asked and he responded, “I don’t have any feelings for you but I am objectifying you and would like to use you just for my own pleasure.” Okay I guess it was honest and self-aware in a way but isn’t that a weird thing to say to someone regardless? I’m kind of in shock

I like the honesty. But the fact that it’s your siblings best friend’s brother.. that gives him some credibility.. but considering what he has in mind and is so straightforward and honest with you about his intentions, I’m embarrassed for your sister or that gives me the impression that your sister acts the same way and that’s why he feels so comfortable exploiting himself like this

do you think he’s basing this on what he thinks of my sister? Because he barely knows me-we have met a few times in person and he added me on social media but my social media is just pictures of me hiking or food I like-nothing too crazy haha

Guys think they are expected to be always up for it and never turn any woman down. Could also be he thought this response would be less painful than a simple "no thank you". Maybe he thought you would see that as him being an asshole rather than him rejecting you.

I was just kind of confused why he out of the blue started messaging me a lot on social media saying that I was beautiful when he hadn’t talked to me much before so that’s why I decided to ask if he had become interested in me-I feel like he could have just said “no, I just was giving you compliments” but this way he does seem like the asshole-it sounds like a really convoluted way to try to not hurt my feelings but anything is possible?
