It sounds like a lack of self-awareness. He clearly doesn’t know how to talk to women, if he’s going to just refer to women as bitches, he’s talking as if he’s talking to another misogynistic dude who’s also unsuccessful with women. This is almost certainly the case. Most people who say something like that so brazenly around someone it offends are usually sincerely completely unaware of the effect it's having, for one reason or another.
