Because he probably has to some degree, now or in the past. I knew a woman for like 5 years and we had a great rapport. But I never saw her manipulative nature because she was so subtle. Then one day seemingly out of the blue she crossed the line and did something very uncharacteristic for her, or so I thought. The reality is that I was just meeting the REAL her for the first time. She got a bit worse and I eventually had to break off contact with her. But that wasn't the end of the story. She stalked for 2 years after that. Trying to get back in my life by toxic acts of manipulation.

No one CONTROLS anyone. But she thought she did me. And she desperately wanted that control back.
