A guy at work from another department interacted with me and seemed very hesitant to approach me and seemed very shy. Why?

im a very shy nervous woman so I’m 99.99% of the time the one who knows and feels I’m the shy and anxious one and everyone else is not as bad as me if they’re anxious at all. Most people aren’t.

Congratulations finding someone shyer than you! 😂 Guys are just as insecure as girls. As a shy girl, you might not approach guys, but they probably still approach you, the players, and the ones who just have to. If he’s the latter, you have twice as much experience talking to guys as he has talking to girls! If he finds you the least bit attractive (he probably does 😉) I’m sure he’s scared to death of you. As a girl, you have tremendous power, whether you know it or not.

Well I keep thinking about him. Every encounter we have makes me notice him and think more about him lol. It’s like two but yeah the first time I had to approach him for a question and he was there. I never even thought much about him if I’d seen him before. He wouldn’t look in my eyes, was looking down maybe even hiding a smile. So I was really intrigued. I’m shy but I’m can make good eye contact ironically, and 99% of people make eye contact. He made none. It stood out to me.
Ever since then I’ve been paying attention to him (from afar since we are in different departments) and trying to see if I can make eye contact or something LoL so I can read him. But then he was nervous this second time. I was like woah… he seems almost shyer than me? Like how is that even possible? It makes him very lovable whether he’s just super shy with me or is just shy in general. It’s endearing. Many douchebags and biatches are in the world and so to find a shy person is like a gem he seems nice.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen him like having a laugh with anyone or anything like that. It’s like he just works and then goes home.

I’m usually not surprised by people this way.

There’s gotta be something wrong with him or us and so we can’t work out or date or whatever. Just watch.

If you are interested, you’ll have to make the first move to get him talking. Could be as simple, ‘haven’t seen you around much, when did you start working here?’ If you’re worried about age, you could tease, like ‘are you even old enough to work here?’ or maybe ‘old enough to drink?’ which gives you an immediate transition to ‘oh yeah, let’s go for after work drinks Friday.’ I wouldn’t be too worried about age/him being younger, but you will need to be prepared to ‘drive the bus’ as it were, and be in the lead. That might include things like you having condoms available if things get serious, which you might take for granted with other guys. Remember, you’re in control. He’s more afraid of you than you are of him. I wouldn’t be surprised if you end up taking his virginity 😉

Anxiety is energy, so when you’re walking around carrying 100% of it on your back, people will notice and pick up on that. I’m sure you’ve had moments where someone’s energy rubs off on you, whether it’s happiness, stress, sadness, etc.

In other comments you refer to this man as a mystery, you don’t even know his age, so how can you just assume he is nervous in the first place? I personally feel like if anything he’s picked up on your energy, as I’m sure he’s run into you before since you work together, and he’s noticed that is the vibe you give off. That’s assuming he’s acting nervous and shy in the first place, but you don’t know this guy enough, or what’s going on his mind.
