Why did a much older man at work say this to me?

He’s said this months ago too. I’m just wondering what it means. I know I get a gut feeling like it’s wrong for him to say it but logically I don’t know what he really means by it or why it’s offensive

ok so he will give me something (work related, it’s not actually giving me anything) and then he said “don’t say I never gave you anything”… ?

It is just a silly saying. Don't read too much into it.

He stares at me after saying it. So it’s not just the saying. It’s body language too. People can say any old thing but if you are smiling and looking at me after saying it, it makes me wonder.
