Why would he like my pic after a breakup if he has never liked my pics before even when we were dating?

We‘ve been dating for 6 months, and two weeks ago he decided to end things because he «didn’t know what he wanted anymore». We‘ve never talked since then, and suddenly he likes my new Instagram picture. Just a simple picture where I look my usual, so not a thirst trap or something. And that would be okay, BUT he never liked my pics before, even when we were dating. So I’m wondering, could this be a sign that he regrets his decision and is testing the water to see if he can come back? Please don’t come on me with the stuff like «we can’t read his mind, ask him yourself what does that mean», well if I could do that I wouldn’t ask this question here. Yes, I may be overthinking and overanalyzing, because I’m not over him. Just want to hear your opinions/experience, what would be your motivation if you did something like that?

It is likely the simplest way for him to grab your attention I would think. Why is he trying to do that? Not sure. Could be he is hoping to have you reach out to him. I really can't think of any other reason than an attention grab. Maybe he wants you to still think about him and that's his way of keeping himself in your head? That's all I got lol.
