That's exactly how it should be! Now, what I'd try to do is convince him that he's better off being your friend than not having a relationship with you at all, and then seeing if he's interested in becoming your trusted confidant, wingman, etc, if you think you'd enjoy that, of course.
I honestly don't understand why guys in this situation stick around, it's just a VIP to torture seeing the girl you like getting involved with other dudes, you do you I guess, at some point he will realize it's nothing but pain 😂
Set some boundaries and stop entertaining him when he’s acting jealous. Like clearly he feels entitled to that behavior because it gets him a reaction, so don’t feed into it anymore.
