Does he like me or is he just being kind?

I told this guy we work together (there are no rules against it where we work) that I like him and that this is why I might seem uncomfortable at times with him. Next tme I saw him it seemed like he tried to get closer and bond. He teased me a little and he asked me to put a little concealer on a little spot he had on his nose (he is a performer, I work backstage). Normally he is more distant than that. Does he like me too or was he just being kind, trying to make me more comfortable? I mean I get the feeling very often that he does like me but he doesn't make a move becuse he is insecure about it, that's why I told him, but now I don't know if he was simply being kind because he doesn't want me to be uncomfortable, or if he is trying to get closer.

it's a little more complicated. We were flirting in the past and he had asked me out. I said no. Then I changed my mind and I asked him out. I told him "whenever you have time let me know". Two weeks passed and he didn't make plans so I acted crazy. Yeah I was a bitch back then, I mean it was just two weaks b@tch, plus you rejected him once, cut him some slack. But my behavior was erratic, so he started pulling away. We pretty much stopped talking. Pretty soon "fate" brought us working in the same band. While we were flirting he invited me in one of his musical gigs, I loved the music and I told the band if they ever need me as a photographer I am willing to help. Pretty soon they asked me to be their permanent photographer. So me and him started reconnecting as friends. I still like him, I don't know if he still likes me. I feel like he does, but he is hesitant. Maybe he is scared I'll act crazy again, or he is not sure how I feel. The thing is I am not sure how he feels either and rejection is my greatest fear. I think we both like each other, but we are too scared to act on it. Or maybe that's just me, I don't know, maybe I'm making it up and it's all in my head. But I'm too scared to ask him directly

Yeah there is no way of telling. If you want to see him more ask him. Maybe apologize for the way you treated him before especially if you recognize it was wrong.
