Just read this: Rhino males have to be hostile toward their females to get them to mate. In captivity every animal turns passive and thus some rhino species are endangered.

Does this mean men have to be raging sex maniacs to keep the population going?

Your question and what you wrote do not go hand in hand honestly when I first saw your question on gags feed I had an answer to it but then when I read what you wrote as an explanation now that threw me off

how the heck do you compare our human species to rhinos? you go from asking if men have to be raging sexual maniacs to comparing it to the hostility in rhinos. the two do not have to go hand in hand. Other than both species being mammals we have nothing more in common with rhinos regarding our sexuality.

hostility and sexual desires for many people don't even come close to meeting at all in fact the word hostility in reference to sexuality would be a major turn-off for many women and men. Oh and your whole questionnaire making it sound as if hostility in sex is "fun" (or the idea that the lack of hostility in sex means less "fun") is actually a very sick twisted and disgusting idea. Again we're not animals we're humans with brains you know to think logically... Anyhow...

Now disregarding the whole talk about hostility or rhinos and just focusing on your question regarding sexuality and whether or not men have to be raging maniacs when it comes to sexuality well no men do not have to be excessively sexual.

Sexuality and sexual desire is different to each individual. It's difficult to put sexuality and desire in a category of a norm especially since there's a lot of things that can factor into sexual desire. There is age, experience health, your mood your diet your level of stress, the amount of rest you have, your schedule or free time you have to engage in your sexuality.

In terms of a state of nature. Absolutely yes.

But we humans no longer live in nature. Also we have free will. But that sexual drive will always be there.

If society collapses and the world ends and most people die? I guarantee you, women will become owned property again as men reprobate the earth by force.

It won't be out of the caring for human flourishing that we will take control of women and reproduce with them at will.

We will do it because we are horny and have the power and we lack the context of a just society with democracy and rights.

It will be a state of nature.

And if you think about it, humans lived in tribes for most of our time alive. Our behaviors have always been controlled by the context of society.

So it's not human nature for men to have a never ending desire to rape women.

But it is human nature that when the context is right, women will become property.

But then, there is still love. Men will love women. Men will be angry to see the woman he has loved to be raped endlessly by other men.

And so men will gang together and fight for stability, fight for those they love.

And society will become stable again equally as naturally as it would become destabilized.

I think to some degree this has to be true for the survival of the species , the original gene base was formed when the major male " hunters and gathers ' these males returned , and would mate with multiple selected women , all coming from the best possible gene fool , these women's mensural cycles would end up in unison , as would ovulation of these fertile females , and that's how it all worked , now never underestimate the hyper sexuality of females - never , and remember biologically speaking , any woman can outlast even the horniest of males , multiple partners are not a problem , so men need to be hunters , they need to be constantly chasing sex with women , younger women who can reproduce , so " sex maniacs " is an over statement , but constantly horny and ready for action , all men need to be ready.

Men aren't  supposed  to be anything. When you limit yourself like that, you're just buying into whatever your society has socially constructed for you to be. In addition a rhinoceros is completely different. What sets us apart from animals is critical thinking. Raging sex maniac? Sex puts me off. I need someone I'm comfortable with to let myself be that vulnerable around anyone. Not to mention I'm just naturally submissive and passive. I don't have a lot of sex, obviously, but also I don't let that bother me or even define me. Sex isn't everything. I've also got some healing/therapy to do anyway before bothering to date again. If you want to be dominant and sex fueled maniacs, sure, go for it. Some chicks like that. Some are annoyed by it. That's the great thing-- everyone is different, so no need to put us in boxes.

Men should not be boxed into any particular gender role or behavior pattern. Gender roles are socially and culturally constructed, and each person has their own unique personality and characteristics. Gender should not determine how a person behaves or their personality traits. Everyone should have the right to choose their own lifestyle without being restricted by rigid gender concepts.
