Why does he kiss me and hold my hand in public, pay for the date but does not text me in between?

So he took me out again and did all those things the following week, and lo and behold he is still not texting after a week. I give up

Maybe he's busy. He can't be on the phone all day. He shouldn't treat you badly (not saying that he is by not texting you), but texting you all day isn't gonna happen and shouldn't if it does. If you'd like to hear from him, just call him or send him a cute text saying you miss him or'd like to hear his voice. Remember that the way to a man's heart is through softness not hardness.

A lot of guys find texting to be too feminine. He at least should call. There is nothing wrong with you sending him something brief and affectionate to gauge his interest.
