Sounds to me that he is saying while he understands why you might have some issue because of what others do you shouldn't let it effect people that had nothing to do with it. More or less you need to let things go and not take it out on people that didn't cause whatever issue you are projecting onto others. I really don't think there is any other way of seeing it. Just learn to let things go instead of letting them effect your present life.
Does he sound like a guy who could be genuinely interested. I’ve kind of been giving him a hard time and I wasn’t looking for long term
It’s not that I don’t want anything serious. I just don’t want to get hurt
I think I messed up…. He hasn’t responded to my text
A few days
Basically we started talking on a dating app and I did mention in my bio that I was willing to be a placeholder until he found someone. He asked what that entails and I also told him that just bc I’m a placeholder doesn’t mean I want casual sex ect…
Everything was cool. We were having a good convo about our jobs. Then he said something light and I blew up! It wasn’t even nothing… he asked if I was getting “excited”…. But I thought he meant sexually… but he didn’t mean excited in a sexual way at all after reading back…
I did mention that I want to protect my emotional well-being at all cost and he asked me what’s the safest way to interact with him.
Yeah I was thinking that. I’ve been acting so immature but it’s really just a trauma response. I don’t feel worthy or it’s hard to believe he would want to talk.
But I’m going to give him some space
That you shouldn't blame him for the mistakes your ex (es) made on you.
And honestly... he is totally right about that.
Keep your precious shit from relationships in the past and give the new guy a honest chance of showing you he isn't like that. If you take the shit from other relationship with you into the new one it's not going to help you getting a good relationship
I told him I wasn’t really looking for anything serious and I’ve been showing him that I’m not healed… that’s what prompted him to say that.
Means you shouldn’t assume everyone is like that and lump everyone together because of what someone else did
