My boyfriend was laughing because he is happy?

We went to bed and already said good night when i suddenly hear him laugh/giggle

I asked :are you laughing or crying?

He said:Im laughing, just random laughter... because im happy. Finally in these past days im happy.

I kissed him and went to sleep

But still have no idea

Why would you laugh in the middle of the night... because you feel happy?
