My ex did this to me... plenty of times. One of the reasons why i am happy and i feel better without him in my life anymore.
We had a fight. So later (not too long) i called him i was crying because of the reason we fought and i feel seriously bad. I was about to tell him something that made me feel worse too. I had a different problem which made me cry more. When he heard me crying on the phone he just said ure crying? Why? And laughed. I didn't even bother telling him anymore. I was hoping he could make me feel better. And feel sad because of my sadness.
In my mind i was like fuck u I’m trying to open up bye.
They say “how a person reacts to your sadness says a lot on how long they’re going to be in ur life”.
Anyway i did end the call cos i just felt stupid. And became numb i immediately stopped crying that night lol like ok I’m done.

My parents did this a lot when I was a kid. They actually used to upset me to entertain themselves. There's something sadistic about him finding humor in your distress and I'd be watchful of whether he's actually enjoying you and other people's fear or pain.
He's uncomfortable when you're upset so get laughs because he doesn't know what else to do. It's common for teenage boys they are still very Emotionally Immature!!!
From the outside looking in, I would think he was immature and doesn't know how to deal with the situation. Which is normal, given your age and assuming he's around your age. If he was in his late 20s or early 30s and beyond, I would find his behavior extremely childish.
Yes, that's weird and not very nice. He needs to stop thinking of himself and think about comforting you. If he can't do that, then bye-bye.

That's not normal... He's insensitive to you, but I don't know if something like that would be worth breaking up over.
