I was casual friends with a guy when we lived in the same state. Then we both moved, recently he moved to where I live after he lost his job at start up. Before he moved months prior he told me on the phone he liked me. I have 0 interest and only like him as a friend. We've hung out a few times since he's moved to my city. I've noticed he always wants me to drive despite him having a car. That's besides thr point. I've had stage thongs happen when I'm around him, being clumsy and damaging my car one night when I hadn't even drank. It almost happened a 2nd time too. I don't think it's a good idea to be friends with a guy when he likes you. Thought-Advice?

Yeah, happened to me once. I had these two guy friends. I knew that the one would never like me and he was one of my besties so I was fine with giving him my number. My other guy friend who I wasn’t that close to asked for my number and I told him no. He then went to my other friend and told him that I had said that he could have my number, so friend #1 gave MY number to friend #2. #2 went on to send me tons of pictures of himself and “accidental” suggestive/heart/love emojis. It was weird. It got weirder when he followed me home after track, found out where I lived, and then texted me that he was on my front lawn and that he wanted to hang out. He would call randomly and get upset when I didn’t pick up, saying that I was a bad friend. I texted #1 and he apologized so many times it’s not even funny. I let him know that it wasn’t his faults, friend #2 just had issues. #2 and I (before this all went down) were in a group for a band field trip to an amusement park. He had asked the director to take the other kid out of our group (without my knowledge) so that it was just the two of us. I feel bad for being cold to him the entire trip, but he was creeping me out and tried touching me weirdly multiple times. (Not in weird areas but like, caressing my hands and squeezing my shoulder) I had told him multiple times that I wasn’t interested, but he insisted that we should date. We were going to the school dance together IN A GROUP with Friend #1 and others, but his mom got out of the car to take a picture of the two of us, it was so weird. I kinda…left him alone at the dance. Again, he wasn’t backing down no matter how many times I told him I wasn’t interested. I ended up blocking him and he hasn’t talked to me since. He DID tell people that he used to date me though, and I have to tell everyone that I have never dated anyone, much less that guy. Me and Friend #1 are still friends tho. So, from my experience, no. A guy who attempts to tell you that he likes you over the phone is not a good idea.
Longs if your clear you aren't into him and he's mature enough to be okay with that then there shouldn't be any problems.
I crush very easy and multiple, so it's unlikely I don't like a female friend and since I am honest about this they should be aware that I probably do but you don't see them stop been my friends and you don't see me making an issue out of it.
Some guys can't handle it. But some can because they've already been in such positions and not let it get in the way.
Are You familiar with the idea of "Friendzone"? I guess it's fine if it's not one-sided. Say, if You help Him find a girlfriend (or basically support Him in any way possible, but helping Him find a girlfriend would help You both, as He would no longer be longing for You accepting His feelings, thus clarifying the status of Your relationship as actual friends), it's OK to just be friends. However, if He's going to be the only one investing His time, skills and perhaps monwy in this friendship, it's going to evolve into a toxic relationship. Friendship is about mutual support.
