Well I can only speak from personally experience but upon reflection I break it down like this.

Around women I am just friendly with/don't have a sexually attraction to I am not nervous at all.

Women that I like and/or want sex with yeah I am nervous. At least I feel like I am nervous I don't know how it is perceived from the outside. But, yeah I get nervous around each but it usually starts from liking them or wanting to tell them how I feel to see if something might be there. I get worried about saying something stupid but I don't think any women has ever taken my nervousness to equal that I like them so maybe it doesn't show personally I feel I just get awkward at those times.

Then in addition if I find out they are single or taken this can go a few different ways. If she is taken and it is serious and I don't have strong feeling towards her yet then it becomes easier for me to relax and the nervousness vanishes. But, if she is single or if she taken and I like her it causes me to keep being nervous at times. I have a conflict within where I want to act on those feelings at times and tell her or ask her out. But, then I worry how she will view me or if she will tell other people I know or if she then thinks I am a creep then if I wanted to ask someone else out that I grew to like would she view me negatively because I tried to choose another girl. Sorry if this is too much detail but hopefully it can provide some helpful insight for what you are looking for.

So to wrap up I feel nervous with both women I want sex with and those that I like. But, especially ones that I like or have those initial feelings towards personally.

I believe that if I find out she likes me there is still some nervousness there but it also dies down when I know for sure she likes me. So it becomes maybe like 75 to 70% not nervous and 25 to 30% nervous in that situation generally speaking but some other factors might come into play.

A person can be nervous because of several issues.

First, could be they have social anxiety, and being around anyone wracks their nerves. Secondly, they could be nervous because they realize YOU like them and they don't feel the same. Finally, the nerves could be because they like you and they don't know how to proceed.
