Yes very much so. I try to do all the little things to make a girl feel safe with me. I can only speak for myself but I do believe most people my age still do. To what lengths and what that actually looks like nowadays is a different story though.

My boyfriend is very level-headed and non violent. He's not the type to just get in someone's fave and threaten to kick their ass when he's just slightly bothered that they're in the same room as me. But when there is real danger he is fully capable of defending me and has proven it in the past.

I would say it depends on the guy and on his relationship to the woman. A guy that cares and loves his woman would try to protect her. If their relationship isn´t going well and they have fights and arguments I would say chances are he won´t.
Some guys might not do it either because they don´t think they are bold enough or they don´t see themselves strong enough.

Having said that, women in general have lost the privilege of having random men protect them.
