What are your thoughts on this guy?

I have liked this guy for a while and I feel like he might like me too. He keeps staring at me, but not talking to me. When we started the school year we were in the same class. There were not many people in this class. Literally 6 people. He is a very popular boy so everyone in this class thought he would switch out. He must've approached the teacher privately, bc the teacher then in from of the class said... "I have your form to switch out of this class" With a dramatic walk to the front of the class he the ripped up the slip and sat down. He sits across the room from me and stares. Do you think he stayed in class for me?
