Why would a guy who dislikes me watch me talk to other people and eavesdrop on my conversations?

I don’t think I ever did anything to offend him so I can’t explain where his disdain for me comes from. Everyone I know describes him as a laid back friendly and talkative guy but to me he is very reserved. However when he sees me talk to other people he tries to get my attention and act civil with me. A few times I caught him eavesdropping on my conversations. Why is he doing this?

That's kinda weird behavior from him. A few possibilities for why he might be doing that:

- He may actually be into you but is too shy or prideful to admit it so he acts standoffish. Watching from afar is how he secretly pays attention.

- Could be he's insecure and jealous that you get along with others when he feels you don't like him back. So he hovers to monitor the "competition".

- Might just be naturally nosy and curious what people are talking about. But zeroing in on you specifically is odd then.

- Could also be he's a drama starter and wants dirt to use against you later or stir things up. Some dudes play mind games like that.

Hard to say for sure, everyone's different. I'd just keep my distance from him and not give too many details about my biz around him if he can't even act normal. Or you could confront him politely and be like "hey what's your deal?" Might catch him off guard and get to the bottom of it! Either way don't stress, his problem not yours.
