i don't usually answer anon posts but this seems important.
the relationship was new and it seemed to her it was an awkward pause in conversation. i've had this happen twice in my life.
and these are called targeted questions. there is no right or wrong answer. it's a test for the woman. it's an interrogation really within a romantic setting that could end or continue the relationship. one could call it relationship blackmail.
i think women who do this are very dangerous. validation in relationships is necessary, but to the extent they take it can be murderous.
