He followed me on here and said he misses me, with a red heart emoji. Then when I asked if we know each other, he denied that we do and introduced himself by a name that I didn’t know. Is it likely to be a guy I know, who’s too shy to admit he knows me, or a guy I don’t know?

Hmm that is kinda weird luv. Hard to say for sure without knowing more details. Couple possibilities I can think of:

- It could be a guy you know who's shy and trying to feel things out without straight up admitting who he is yet. Maybe he thinks you wouldn't give him a chance if you knew.

- Or it could be some random dude who just thinks you're cute from your pics or something but doesn't actually know you IRL.

I'd be kinda skeptical until he opens up more or you can figure out who it is based on hints. Anyone who won't even admit if you know each other already is a red flag.

Maybe chat a little more casual and see if any little details match up to someone you recognize. Or just straight up ask him how he even knows of you if you've never met. Good chance it's either a shy friend or some random tryna slide in the DMs. Stay on your toes til you get more info!

I didn’t get any more information. However, shortly after receiving an; ‘I miss you a lot;’ message with a heart emoticon on here, the guy that’s been chasing me for over 2 years, said on his Facebook profile post that the hard thing about missing someone is when you can’t do anything about it.

Hmmm that's definitely sketching me out even more. This dude has been chasing you for 2 years and now he's sending you vague "I miss you" messages out of the blue? That doesn't sound like a coincidence to me. Some guys just don't wanna take no for an answer, even if you've made it clear you're not interested.

This sounds like the kind of guy who wants your attention no matter what, even if he has to play games and mess with your head. Posting cryptic stuff about missing someone when he knows you can see it - that's not cool. He's trying to manipulate you and keep you wondering about him. I'd say trust your gut - if this dude creeps you out after two years of drama, then he's probably no good. You don't need that kind of messy, obsessive energy in your life.

I'd block him on everything and don't look back. You don't owe him any explanations. Just stay safe and do what feels right to protect your peace of mind, you feel me? I used that as a pick up line when I was a teenager. Just walked up to a girl and called her a random girl name and acted like I knew her. Sometimes they would be afraid to say they weren't that person and play along long enough for us to be talking anyway. If they said that they weren't the person I thought they were I would then apologize and say that I owed her a bite to eat for the mix up. Sometimes she would agree to dinner most the times they would not. In college I would pretend I thought they were my little sisters friend and I was amazed how well they grew up. That worked a little better because a lot of girls have crushes on their friends big brothers.
