The friends of my crush "checking on me"?

Guys, I have noticed this days that the friends of my "crush" are checking of me e. g. at the library they sit closer to me to check who I am with and in other places too but there's no sign of the actual crush.. like a ghost as usual. Has this guy I like mental complexes and tries not to see me because is overwhelming? I like this guy but he's always pushing away on purpose.

Doesn’t sound like they’re checking on you and you’ve just become hyper-aware/fixated with him and his friends’ presence. Not trying to make you sound delusional or weird or anything like that, I just know that sometimes when there’s no solution or answer, people tend to draw their own conclusions in an effort to make heads or tails of something. To me, asking his friends to basically keep tabs on you when he himself won’t approach just doesn’t make sense. The excuse is always so version of “he’s shy”… well, not that shy.

yes but I mean that's pathetic, they stay close to me and check what I do and talk bout with my friends. Why do they care? p. s. The guy rejected me and nothing happened between us so there are no "hot gossip" rumours

I am sure because a guy actually told me he asked him "to keep an eye on me". Let's assume that's true why worked a guy that rejects you say to his friend to keep an eye on me?

You’re definitely right, there’s no good reason for him to have his friends keep an eye on you if he rejected. All I can think is that this came before the rejection, but the friend is just now sharing his motive for watching you. I don’t feel like it’s a thing anymore but more-so of a coincidence, and I’m genuinely not just saying that, I just can’t find a reason why if he didn’t have romantic feelings for you. There’s nothing to have his friend watch out for, you know? I can’t even say he wants to make sure no other men go for you if he himself purposely passed up the opportunity. I just can’t find a good reason for having you watched, and think it was an old request.
