Would a guy wish a women he's only been casually dating because he's really into her of because he feels sorry for her. I mean how important to men if you only casually date.

Hallmark holiday created to make money by assigning value to love in the form of hearts or cards or candy. The establishment uses being single against people in order to generate spending, making people feel lonely via advertising so they'll buy whatever product to feel better. Gimmick, no inherent value like most holidays.
To most guys Valentine's Day is just a day men are pressured or guilted into spending money on their woman. Part of that is over-commercialization, and part of it is female entitlement.
When women start going to the same lengths to show appreiction for their men on Valentine's Day, that may change. But for now, I'm just cynical about it like most guys.
I gave gifts to guy I was dating on sweetest day which is in October.. it's another made up day but gear towards appreciating the men.
I've never heard of it, nor have most other people. I had to Google it, and I found no reference to suggest it is any more about celebrating men than women.
But regardless, I have to assume assume that by your comment you are tacitly acknowledging that Valentine’s Day is a day for men to celebrate women, which in practice it absolutely is. But it shouldn't just be about men celebrating women, and the only reason it is, is because women make it that way.
I stand by my original comment.
It's nothing to me. Just the Roman Celebration of a Christian saint who was sentenced to death on 14th of February 270 CE by Roman Emperor Claudius II. It's bullocks and completely overrated.
