What does it mean when a guy says “I look like a guy who can handle you”?

I was talking to a guy and I was making a statement that “he looks like a guy who can ………. “ and before I could finish talking he completed the statement with “ I look like a guy who can handle you”

There could be different meanings but the way I interpret that is meaning he could handle your personality. It might be a way of him saying that he could see himself with you. It's kind of an odd thing to say and pretty blunt. Can't say I have ever heard anyone say that to me or someone else. Just not really something that I would expect to hear. To me that comes off a little cocky and arrogant even if that wasn't the intention. It also could be meant in a more direct way like he could handle you... in bed. Now I don't want to jump to that conclusion but I don't have context to the conversation. I seriously doubt someone would be so forward to say it in that regard but I've been shocked before.

I've said that in the past to some women who were very aggressively coming on to me. There's never been an out of the blue thing though, but when a woman says "it's not real foreplay until you see a little blood"... I'ma just leave it at that.

To provide more context we were talking about another guy that we both knew but he deemed too feminine and I said I was scared of him because he looks like a guy and before I could finish my sentence “I look like a guy who can handle you”

That is actually an indirect statement. What he actually means is that he is the type of guy who can handle the things that women do with men, like playing hard to get, jealousy games and some of the other games that women play. He means to say he can handle all the drama that women do.

Hence it is an indirect sentence.
