Guys, what does it mean when a guy says you look good?

We were texting and I was telling him how my brother was playfully calling me ugly. He was laughing at me, to tease me I guess. I asked him if I was ugly to him and he said “Yeah” then I said something and he said he was just playing. Then he said “Not really” and I said “So I'm kind of ugly” and he said “No” then “You look good” and I said “You mean face or...” then he said “FACE ig”

What did he mean by that, and why did he say “FACE” in all caps?

I think he was trying to tell you that you looked good. But made sure to clarify that he was talking about your face, not your body, so you wouldn't think he was a perv
